WHY CHRISTIANS WHO ARE ENGAGED AND
INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY ARE CALLED BLESSED AND WITH MANY BLESSINGS FROM GOD?
( Joshua 24:15 ) And if it seem evil unto you to
serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which
your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of
the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve
the LORD.
INTRODUCTION:
* Joshua who is faithful serving the Lord understand what the true heart
and blessed to serve God. That is why as God-fearing father of his family he
also encouraged his Children to served God in their life.
( Psalms 128:1-4 ) [1] Blessed is every one that
feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
[2]For thou shalt eat the labour
of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
[3]Thy wife shall be as a fruitful
vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about
thy table.
[4]Behold, that thus shall the man
be blessed that feareth the LORD.
I. BEING ENGAGED AND INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD
THIS WILL LEADS THE CHRISTIAN TO CHOOSE TO BE CLOSER TO GOD.
( Psalms 73:28 ) But it is good for me to draw near
to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works
II. BEING ENGAGED
AND INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD THIS WILL THE LEADS CHRISTIAN TO
CHOOSE TO BE STRONG AND FAITHFUL IN CHRISTIAN LIFE.
( II Timothy 2:1-2 ) [1]Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the
grace that is in Christ Jesus.
[2]And the things that thou hast
heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who
shall be able to teach others also.
III. BEING ENGAGED AND INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY OF THE
LORD THIS LEADS THE CHRISTIAN TO CHOOSE
TO HUMBLE YOURSELVES AND GOD TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS.
( Hebrews 4:16 ) Let us therefore come boldly unto
the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time
of need.
( James 4:6 ) But he giveth more grace.
Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
IV. BEING ENGAGED AND INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY OF THE
LORD WILL LEAD THE CHRISTIAN TO CHOOSE TO ASK THE POWER AND GUIDANCE OF THE
HOLY SPIRIT TO HELP TO DO THE WORK OF THE LORD.
( Acts 1:8 ) But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of
the earth.
( John 16:13 ) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew
you things to come.
V. BEING ENGAGED AND INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD
WILL THE CHRISTIAN TO CHOOSE TO WALK WORTHY OF THE LORD AND GLORIFYING AND
PLEASING GOD IN OUR LIVES.
( Colossians 1:10 ) That ye might walk worthy of the
Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in
the knowledge of God;
VI. BEING ENGAGED AND INVOLVED IN THE MINISTRY OF THE
LORD THIS CHRISTIAN CHOOSE TO BE BE FRUITFUL BY FULLFILLING THE GREAT
COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IN THEIR LIFE.
( Matthew 28: 19-20
) [19]Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[20]Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto
the end of the world. Amen.
* The Lord Jesus Christ is our prime model in winning lost people.
( John 9:4-5 ) [4]I must work the works of him
that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
[5]As long as I am in the world, I
am the light of the world.
* Jerusalem Church is also our good example in fulfilling the great
commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves
continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
[5]And the saying pleased the
whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy
Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and
Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
[6]Whom they set before the
apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
[7]And the word of God increased;
and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great
company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
* Antioch Church is also our good model in soulwinning.
( Acts 11:21-24 ) [21]And the hand of the Lord was
with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
[22]Then tidings of these things
came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth
Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
[23]Who, when he came, and had
seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of
heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
[24]For he was a good man, and
full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
