[DD] [PREACHING LESSON 18:] GREAT GRACE EXPERIENCE OF PASTOR AND WIFE'S FAMILY IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD

GREAT GRACE EXPERIENCE OF PASTOR AND WIFE'S FAMILY IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD

I. THE GRACE OF GOD IS ALWAYS READY TO GIVE TO THE PASTOR AND WIFE AND FAMILY AS RIGHTEOUS LIFE AS GOOD MODEL CHRISTIAN INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.

(ROMANS 6:1-2) “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

a. God always prepare the bountiful grace to give to Christians.

b. Not all receive the bountiful grace of God but only to those who have righteous living before God.

( Psalms 128:1-6 ) [1] Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

[2]For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

[3]Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

[4]Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

[5]The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

[6]Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

* Joshua showed that every individual in his are serving the Lord.

( Joshua 24:15 ) And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

* King David chooce to be an example and his family to love the Lord in their life.

( Psalms 91:14-16 ) [14]Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

[15]He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

[16]With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

* Noah chooses to obey God without any question of building a giant Ark.

( Hebrews 11:7 ) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

* Moises showed faithfulness in serving God as good model of God’s people.

( Hebrews 3:5 ) And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

* Paul is a good model of being faithful in winning lost people.

( I Corinthians 9:19-22 ) [19]For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

[21]To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

* This the great grace that we enjoy as God servant as Pastors and Pastor's wife and family from the Lord.

( 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 ) [26]For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

[27]But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

[28]And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

[29]That no flesh should glory in his presence.

[30]But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

[31]That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

* All these spiritual blessing are God's perfect support to us God's servant in the ministry of the Lord.

II. THE GRACE OF GOD ALWAYS GIVES STRENGTH AND STABILITY IN PASTOR AND WIFE FAMILY IN THEIR MINISTRY.

(1 PETER 5:10) “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”

a. Christian needs to be strong in Christian life in order to face and fight our spiritual enemy the devil.

(EPHESIANS 6:10-12) “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

b. God used strong and faithful Christian in winning more lost people.

(2 TIMOTHY 2:1-2) “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”

* Paul good encouragement to us being strong and always positive in serving God in His great ministry.

( Philippians 4:13 ) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

* We need to be strong always being in the front line in the ministry of the Lord because our enemy the Devil is looking for the good time that we are aware of his unexpected attack to us being God servant.

( Ephesians 6:10 - 18 ) [10]Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

[11]Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

[12]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

[13]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

[14]Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

[15]And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

[16]Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

[17]And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

[18]Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

III. THE GRACE OF GOD IS SUFFICIENT FOR THE PASTOR AND WIFE AND FAMILY IN TIME OF FACING DEEP TRIALS AND TROUBLES IN THEIR CHRISTIAN LIFE.

(2CORINTHIANS 12:9-10) “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2Cor 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

( 1 Corinthians 15:10 ) But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

* The bountiful grace of are always ready to comfort us at all times when we are down and feel discouraged in the ministry.

( II Corinthians 1: 4-10 ) [4]Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

[5]For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

[6]And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

[7]And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

[8]For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

[9]But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

[10]Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

( I Peter 5:10 ) But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

a. Paul’s testimony that the grace of God abounds and made him victorious in Christian life.

(1JOHN 4:4) “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

* The growth of the work of God experienced is the great evidence of the Victory God bestowed to the local Church.

( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

[7]And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

* The Church at Antioch experienced great Victory in the work of the Lord.

( Acts 11:20-24 ) [20]And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

[21]And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

[22]Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

[23]Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

[24]For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

* God bless you all always *
