THE UNCHANGING GOD:
GOD NEVER
CHANGE HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY AND FOREVER.
(Hebrews 13:8) Jesus
Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
*INTRODUCTION:
a. God is the Creator God, and He never changes
from being a powerful God, and nothing is impossible for Him.
Genesis 1:1-5 [1]In the
beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
[2]And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters.
[3]And God said, Let there be light: and there was
light.
[4]And God saw the light, that it was good: and
God divided the light from the darkness.
[5]And God called the light Day, and the darkness
he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
b. Our God is not only unchanging but also
all-knowing. He is an everlasting God, the Creator of all things, who does not
grow weary and gives strength to those who are faint, as the Bible says.
(Isaiah 40:28-31) [28]Hast
thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no
searching of his understanding.
[29]He giveth power to the faint; and to them that
have no might he increaseth strength.
[30]Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and
the young men shall utterly fall:
[31]But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew
their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and
not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
c. Our God is not only unchanging but also
powerful, and nothing is too hard for Him.
( Jeremiah 32:17-19 ) [17]Ah Lord
GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and
stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
[18]Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands,
and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children
after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,
[19]Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for
thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one
according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
1. GOD
NEVER CHANGES HIS LOVE FOR ALL HIS CREATURES AND DESIRE THAT ALL SINNERS TO BE
SAVED.
( I Timothy 2:4 ) Who will
have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
* God
expresses His great love for you and me in John 3:16.
( John 3:16 ) For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
*
Thank God there is John 3:16. I understand that God’s precious Son, Jesus
Christ, paid for my sin on the cross of Calvary in full.
(Hebrews 10:17-18) [17]And
their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
[18]Now where remission of these is, there is no
more offering for sin.
John 3:16
in the Bible. In this verse we learned God loves you and me, and Christ died
for my sin and yours and all the lost people in the world.
+ In
John 3: 16 I understand that God love me and you so much that He let His dear
Son die on the cross for our sin.
*
Christ’s great purpose of coming down on earth is to seek and to save that
which is lost, and we are the lost that Christ loves so much.
( Luke 19:10 ) For the Son
of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
*
Christ loves your precious soul and not the good things you have in your life.
Lost people do not understand that they have souls, or maybe they know that
they have souls but do not know that their souls are very precious.
( Mark 8:36 ) For what
shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
* The
preciousness of our souls made the Lord Jesus Christ came down and died on the
cross for you and me.
( Romans 5:8-10 ) [8]But God
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us.
[9]Much more then, being now justified by his
blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
[10]For if, when we were enemies, we were
reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we
shall be saved by his life.
*
Christ commanded His children to go into the world and preach the gospel of
Christ to the whole world to be saved.
(Matthew 28:19-20) [19]Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[20]Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
2. GOD
NEVER CHANGES HIS PLAN AND PURPOSE AFTER YOU AND I, CHRISTIANS, GET SAVED.
( 2 Timothy 1:9 ) Who hath
saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but
according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus
before the world began,
* You
and I are called of God to a holy calling.
1 Corinthians 1:26-31 [26]For ye
see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not
many mighty, not many noble, are called:
[27]But God hath chosen the foolish things of the
world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty;
[28]And base things of the world, and things which
are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to
nought things that are:
[29]That no flesh should glory in his presence.
[30]But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God
is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
[31]That, according as it is written, He that
glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
God
made it for you and me to know that all of us who are saved and baptized are
called to a holy purpose: being a member of the body of Christ.
* The
Church: a discipleship program inside the local church to equip each individual
church member in the ministry of the Lord.
( Ephesians 4:11-16 ) [11]And he
gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some,
pastors and teachers;
[12]For the perfecting of the saints, for the work
of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13]Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of
the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14]That we henceforth be no more children, tossed
to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of
men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
[15]But speaking the truth in love, may grow up
into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
[16]From whom the whole body fitly joined together
and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual
working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the
edifying of itself in love.
* The
Church is designed by God as one body with many different parts. Every part is
with a different ministry inside the local Church.
( I Corinthians 12:12-18 ) [12]For as
the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body,
being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
[13]For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one
body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been
all made to drink into one Spirit.
[14]For the body is not one member, but many.
[15]If the foot shall say, Because I am not the
hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
[16]And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the
eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
[17]If the whole body were an eye, where were the
hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
[18]But now hath God set the members every one of
them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
We
have different talents given by God so that we can fulfill our calling inside
the local church in order to please God in our lives.
( Colossians 1:9-10 ) [9]For this
cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to
desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and
spiritual understanding;
[10]That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all
pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of
God;
3. GOD
NEVER CHANGES HIS GREAT COMMISSION TO HIS CHURCH TO WIN THE LOST AND BAPTIZE
THEM AND BE A BLESSING TO HIS CHURCH.
( Matthew 28:19-20 ) [19]Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[20]Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
*
Christ trained the 12 to be good soulwinners and disciplers inside the local
Church. The greatness of this is that the
Church grew and became 120 soulwinners of Christ of the Lord Jesus Christ.
( Acts 1:13-15 ) [13]And
when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both
Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and
Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of
James.
[14]These all continued with one accord in prayer
and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his
brethren.
[15]And in those days Peter stood up in the midst
of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred
and twenty,)
Before
Christ left the Church, the Church was now ready to conquer by the gospel of
the Lord Jesus Christ. The 120 Church
members are all soulwinners and disciplers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Big Amen
and Amen.
* The
Servant of God, which is the Pastor. Our
ultimate goal is that every individual Christian be saved and baptized so that
they are Soulwinners and disciplers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
*
Jerusalem Church grew more than expected.
( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we
will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and
they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and
Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of
Antioch:
[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when
they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
[7]And the word of God increased; and the number
of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the
priests were obedient to the faith.
*
Antioch Church followed the step of Jerusalem Church in evangelizing their community
in Antioch.
( Acts 11:20-24 ) [4]But we
will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
* Even
the enemy of the gospel cannot stop the Church in their soul-winning drive in
their community.
( Acts 5:26-29 ) [26]Then
went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they
feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
[27]And when they had brought them, they set them
before the council: and the high priest asked them,
[28]Saying, Did not we straitly command you that
ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with
your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
[29]Then Peter and the other apostles answered and
said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Christ
is our great model in fulfilling the Great Commission.
( John 9:4-5 ) [4]I must
work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no
man can work.
[5]As long as I am in the world, I am the light of
the world.
* The
Lord Jesus Christ is our prime model for the most important ministry of the
Church. Winning lost people at any cost,
at any place, at any opportunity, and at any time. Let’s go soulwinning. I
challenge our church members to have 5 souls every week to win for Christ’s
sake and for God’s glory.
4. GOD
NEVER CHANGES HIS WAY FOR THE CHRISTIAN TO BE VICTORIOUS; IT BY FAITH IN GOD.
( 1 John 5:4-5 ) [4]For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith.
[5]Who is he that overcometh the world, but he
that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
* God
gave us the record of the Christians who live victoriously because they live
their Christian life from faith to faith.
( Romans 1:17 ) [17]For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is
written, The just shall live by faith.
* Paul
reminded us that we cannot please God if we are not living by faith.
( Hebrews 11:1-9 ) [1]Now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2]For by it the elders obtained a good report.
[3]Through faith we understand that the worlds
were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of
things which do appear.
[4]By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent
sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God
testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
[5]By faith Enoch was translated that he should
not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before
his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
[6]But without faith it is impossible to please
him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
[7]By faith Noah, being warned of God of things
not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;
by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which
is by faith.
[8]By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out
into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he
went out, not knowing whither he went.
[9]By faith he sojourned in the land of promise,
as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the
heirs with him of the same promise:
*
There is clear evidence if Christians are walking by faith.
*
Perfect obedience of the Christian is the clear evidence.
* In
verse 2 God gave us the record of the perfect obedience of the Christians to
God.
(Hebrews 11:1-2) [1]Now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2]For by it the elders obtained a good report.
1. We
did not know how God created all things, but through faith we believed that
only God created all things by Himself.
(Hebrews 11:3) Through
faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that
things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
2.
Abel offered a better offering than Cain, the Bible said.
(Hebrews 11:4) By faith
Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he
obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it
he being dead yet speaketh.
3.
Enoch pleased God, the Bible said.
(Hebrews 11:5-6) [5]By faith
Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because
God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that
he pleased God.
[6]But without faith it is impossible to please
him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
4.
Noah obeyed God by faith.
( Hebrews 11:7 ) By faith
Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared
an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and
became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
5.
Abraham obeyed God even though he didn’t know where he would go but followed
God’s instructions to him.
(Hebrews 11:8) By faith
Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he
went.
6. The
Old Testament great men and women of live their lives victoriously through
faith in God.
(Hebrews 11:8,32-40) [8]By faith
Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after
receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he
went.
[32]And what shall I more say? for the time would
fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of
David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
[33]Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought
righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
[34]Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the
edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight,
turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
[35]Women received their dead raised to life
again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might
obtain a better resurrection:
[36]And others had trial of cruel mockings and
scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
[37]They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were
tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and
goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
[38](Of whom the world was not worthy:) they
wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
[39]And these all, having obtained a good report
through faith, received not the promise:
[40]God having provided some better thing for us,
that they without us should not be made perfect.
* God
never changes His way; for Christians to be victorious is by faith in God, the Bible
said.
( 1 John 5:4-5 ) [4]For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith.
[5]Who is he that overcometh the world, but he
that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
5.
CHRIST WILL NEVER CHANGE HIS PERFECT DESIRE OF HIS COMING TO GET THE CHURCH
WITH HIM IN HEAVEN FOREVER AND EVER.
(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) [13]But I
would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep,
that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14]For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15]For this we say unto you by the word of the
Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not
prevent them which are asleep.
[16]For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17]Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so
shall we ever be with the Lord.
[18]Wherefore comfort one another with these
words.
* The
coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is very soon, more than we think. He was already
at the door of our house, the Bible said.
(Matthew 24:30-33) [30]And
then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
[31]And he shall send his angels with a great
sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four
winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
[32]Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his
branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
[33]So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these
things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
* Paul
encourages the Christians to tell to all Christians about the coming of the
Lord Jesus Christ as to comfort us while waiting for Christ’s coming.
* For Christians
who are facing trial and discouragement in their Christian life, the Second
coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is one good source of giving them comfort in
their Christian life.
* Paul
also encouraged the Christian to remain faithful to things that they started well;
they can able to maintain the good things they started in the Ministry of the
Lord.
( Philippians 1:5-6 ) [5]For your
fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
[6]Being confident of this very thing, that he
which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ:
* Paul
encourages the Christians to be faithful in the ministry you are doing inside
the local Church. Be faithful in your worship to God every Sunday, Lord’s Day
Sunday.
*
Continue serving God with the talents God has given to you and encourage more
of the other Christians to be faithful also in their ministry.
* It
is sad to say that many are like Demas, who started serving God faithfully, but
later on they stop.
( II Timothy 4:10 ) For Demas
hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto
Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
*
Always remember God prepared the reward in advance for those who showed their
faithfulness in serving the Lord.
( II Timothy 4:8 ) [7]I have
fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
[8]Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:
and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
* Paul
reminds the Christian to remain faithful and continue those good things you
have started till Jesus Christ comes back.
( Philippians 1:5-6 ) [5]For your
fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
[6]Being confident of this very thing, that he
which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ:
* God
never changes in His plan for the Salvation of lost people.
* God
for His purpose for the Christian got saved
* God
never changed His great commission to His Church to win and baptized them and
be a blessing to His Church.
* God
never changes; for the Christians to be victorious is to live by faith to God.
* God will
never change His desires at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to get the
Church with Him in heaven forever and ever.
* God
bless you all always *
