[D] [PREACHING LESSON 10:] SYMBOLS OF GOD’S CARE TO HIS CHILDREN

SYMBOLS OF GOD’S CARE TO HIS CHILDREN

(MGA SIMBOLO NG PAG-AALAGA NG DIYOS SA KANYANG MGA ANAK)

JOHN 10:9-14 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Jn 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

Jn 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Jn 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

Jn 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

Jn 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my [sheep], and am known of mine.”

Panimula:

1. GOD AS A MOTHER COMFORTETH HIS CHILDREN

ISAIAH 66:13 “As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”

PROVERBS 31:14-17 “She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Prov 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Prov 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Prov 31:17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.”

PSALMS 121:1-5 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. a

Pss 121:2 My help [cometh] from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Pss 121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Pss 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Pss 121:5 The Lord [is] thy keeper: the Lord [is] thy shade upon thy right hand.”

2. GOD AS A FATHER PITIETH HIS CHILDREN

PSALMS 103:13 “Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the Lord pitieth them that fear him.”

PSALMS 89:1-2 “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Pss 89:2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.”

HEBREWS 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

3. GOD AS A NURSE CHERISHETH HIS CHILDREN

1THESSALONIANS 2:7 “But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:”

MATTHEW 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under [her] wings, and ye would not!”

c.      Katulad din Siya ng ibong lawin.

DEUTERONOMY 32:11-12 “As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

Deut 32:12 [So] the Lord alone did lead him, and [there was] no strange god with him.”

4. GOD AS A GOOD SHEPHERD SEEKETH FOR HIS CHILDREN

EKIEL 34:12 “As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep [that are] scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.”

JOHN 10:11 “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

LUKE 15:3-7 “And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

Lk 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

Lk 15:5 And when he hath found [it], he layeth [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing.

Lk 15:6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

Lk 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

1CORINTHIANS 15:55 “O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?

5. GOD AS A BRIDEGROOM REJOICETH FOR HIS CHILDREN

GALATIANS 1:4 “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:”

EPHESIANS 5:25-28 “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”

EPHESIANS 5:27 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”

Pangwakas:
