ACTS 11:26 “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

Panimula:

1. WE ARE CALLED FIRST CHRISTIAN IN ANTIOCH

(Una tayong tinawag na Kristiano sa Antioch)

a.     Paliwanag sa kahulugan ng salitang “Christian”

Acts 11:26 Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

I Peter 4:16 1Pet 4:16 Yet if [any man suffer] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

ROMANS 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

2. WE ARE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD

(Tinawag tayong anak ng Diyos)

Jn 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jn 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”

JOHN 8:44 “Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

3. WE ARE CALLED THE DISCIPLES OF CHRIST

(Tinawag tayong disipulo ni Kristo)

1CORINTHIANS 1:2 “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:”

ACTS 20:28 “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”

(Tinawag tayong asin ng sanlibutan)

MATTHEW 5:13 “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

2THESSALONIANS 2:8-12 “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2Thes 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Thes 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Thes 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

1THESSALONIANS 4:14-18 “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Thes 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1Thes 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Thes 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
