[C] [PREACHING LESSON 12:] NOW THAT WE KNOW THAT WE ARE A CHILD OF GOD, WHAT DOES GOD EXPECT FROM HIS CHILDREN – PART 1

(NGAYONG ALAM MO NA NA IKAW AY ANAK NG DIYOS, ANO ANG INAASAHAN NIYA SA’YO? – PART 1)

1. GOD EXPECTS THAT WE WILL WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH
JOHN 4:23-24 “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Jn 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.”

a. Tinatawag itong “Lord’s Day” o “Sunday”.
ACTS 20:7 “And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.”

2. GOD EXPECTS THAT WE WILL MEDITATE ON HIS WORD DAY AND NIGHT
JOSHUA 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

MATTHEW 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

JOSHUA 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

PSALMS 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

3. GOD EXPECTS THAT WE WILL PRAY ALWAYS
(Inaasahan ng Diyos na palagi tayong mananalangin)
LUKE 18:1 “And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”

MATTHEW 6:6-9 “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mt 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mt 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”

JOHN 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:”
ROMANS 8:14-16 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

JEREMIAH 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

1CHRONICLES 4:10 “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep [me] from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”

4. GOD EXPECTS THAT WE WILL SERVE HIM ACCORDING TO THE TALENT THAT WE HAVE
1TIMOTHY 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”

1CORINTHIANS 12:18-20 “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
1Cor 12:19 And if they were all one member, where [were] the body?
1Cor 12:20 But now [are they] many members, yet but one body.”

1TIMOTHY 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”

1CORINTHIANS 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

5. GOD EXPECTS THAT WE WILL GIVE OUR TITHES AND OFFERING FAITHFULLY
MALACHI 3:10-12 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].
Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.”

MALACHI 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].”

MALACHI 3:8 “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.”

Pangwakas:
MATTHEW 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
