THE GREAT BENEFITS OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD

( Psalms 128:1-6 ) [1] Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

[2]For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

[3]Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

[4]Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

[5]The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

[6]Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

1)  GIVES THE BELIEVER PROTECTION EVIL PEOPLE. 

Job 28:28  And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

(Proverbs 2:10-12) [10]When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

[11]Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

[12]To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

2)  GIVES THE BELIEVER A CLEAN LIFE. 

Psalms 19:9  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

* Desire to walk a holy walk.

( I Peter 1:15-16 ) [15]But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

[16]Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

3)  GIVES THE BELIEVER WISDOM. 

Psalms 111:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

( Proverbs 4:5-7 ) [5]Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

[6]Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

[7]Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

4)  GIVES THE BELIEVER KNOWLEDGE. 

Proverbs 1:7  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

* Knowledge is our understanding of the will of God in our lives.

(Proverbs 2:6-11) [6]For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

[7]He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

[8]He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

[9]Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

[10]When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

[11]Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

5)  GIVES THE BELIEVER A LONG LIFE. 

Proverbs 10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

* God promise to give long life to those children who respect and obey their parents.

( Ephesians 6:1-3 ) [1]Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

[2]Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

[3]That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

* Being obedient to the commandment of God He will give you long life .

( Deuteronomy 5:32-33 ) [32]Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

[33]Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

6)  GIVES THE BELIEVER CONFIDENCE. 

Proverbs 14:26  In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

* Our confidence is always in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

( John 16:13 ) [13]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

* Our confidence is always comes the Word of God.

(John 8:31-32) [31]Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

[32]And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

* The Word of God is the basis of our faith a the believers of Christ.

( II Timothy 3:16-17 ) [16]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

[17]That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

7)  GIVES THE BELIEVER A GOOD LIFE. 

Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

* The Christian family will enjoy fruitful from the Lord.

8)  GIVES THE BELIEVER A KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.

Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

* You will know more how great is our God.

( Jeremiah 32:17-19 ) [17]Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

[18]Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

[19]Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

* Our God is a great God

(Psalms 145:3-11) [3]Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

[4]One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

[5]I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

[6]And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

[7]They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

[8]The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

[9]The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

[10]All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.

[11]They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

9)  GIVES THE BELIEVER STABILITY.

Isaiah 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

10)  GIVES THE BELIEVER PEACE AND COMFORT

Acts 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

1 Peter 5:10 [10]But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
