[BB] [PREACHING LESSON 16:] THE GREAT BLESSINGS OF ABIDING IN THE WILL OF GOD

THE GREAT BLESSINGS OF ABIDING IN THE WILL OF GOD

(JOHN 15:1-16) “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Jn 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Panimula:

a. Abiding, abide – to stay, to dwell, to remain, to continue ro stay

JOHN 15:5 “I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

1. ABIDING IN CHRIST IS REST ASSURED GOD'S APPOVAL IN CHRISTIAN LIFE THAT GENUILY CONNECTED WITH THE TRUE VINE JESUS CHRIST.

* God testify that we are connected to the true vine the Lord Jesus Christ.

(John 15:1-2) [1]I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

[2]Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

* God’s approval experience the working power of the Holy Spirit in every individual life of the Christian.

* This approval is the evidence that we are saved and we have Jesus Christ in our life and have eternal life because of Christ.

( 1 John 5:11-13 ) [11]And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

[12]He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

[13]These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

2. ABIDING IN CHRIST MADE THE CHRISTIAN PURE AND CLEAN BEFORE GOD.

JOHN 15:2 “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

( John 15:3 ) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

* God desires to see the Christian to always walk in holiness.

1 Peter 1:15-16 [15]But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

[16]Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

* Christians should choose what is right pure in the eyes of God.

( Philippians 4:8-9 ) [8]Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

[9]Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Romans 12:1-2 [1]I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

[2]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

3. ABIDING IN CHRIST MADE THE LIFE OF THE CHRISTIAN VERY FRUITFUL.

( JOHN 15:5 ) “I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

( John 15:8 ) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

* God has chose us to have a fruitful Christian life.

John 15:16 [16]Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

* God compare the Christian into a fruitful Palm tree.

( Psalms 92: 12-14 ) [12]The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

[13]Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

[14]They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

4. ABIDING IN CHRIST REST ASSURED PRAYER REQUEST OF THE CHRISTIAN BE ANSWERED

JOHN 15:7 “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

JOHN 14:13 “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

(John 15:16) Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

5. ABIDING CHRIST ASSURE THE HAPPY LIFE OF THE CHRISTIAN.

* Happy life of the Christian is always the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian

( Galatians 5:22 ) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

* The spiritual joy is experience of the Christian when Christian is able to win lost people. Because even the angels in heaven are rejoicing before God for one sinner repenteth their sin and be saved.

( Luke 15:3-7 ) [3]And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

[4]What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

[5]And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

[6]And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

[7]I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

* The Antioch Church are rejoicing when their soulwinning effort were so fruitful.

( Acts 11:21-24 ) [21]And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

[22]Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

[23]Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

[24]For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

Pangwakas:

(John 15:15) Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

[16]Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye shouldf go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

* God bless you all always *
