[BB] [PREACHING LESSON 11:] SOME IMPORTANT TRUTH WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND ABOUT FOLLOWING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS WATER BAPTISM.

SOME IMPORTANT TRUTH WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND ABOUT FOLLOWING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS WATER BAPTISM.

(Romans 6:3-5) [3]Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

[4]Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

[5]For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

* Baptism is the first step of obedience to God after accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their and Saviour of their life.

(Matthew 28:19-20) [19]Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

[20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

* INTRODUCTION:

1. BAPTISM IS THE FIRST STEP OF OBEDIENCE OF A GENUINE CHRISTIAN.

(Matthew 28:19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

* The Baptism is in the likeness of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:3-4 [3]Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

[4]Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

2. BAPTISM IS A DECISION AND A COMMITMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN TO GOD TO WALK IN THE NEWNESS OF LIFE.

(Romans 6:4) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

* God expected that Christian will make to walk with a great change.

( II Corinthians 5:17 ) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

3. BAPTISM OF THE CHRISTIAN MADE THEM TO BE CONNECTED TO THE ONE BODY OF CHRIST.

( 1 Corinthians 12:12-18 ) [12] For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

[13] For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

[14] For the body is not one member, but many.

[15] If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

[16] And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

[17] If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

[18] But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

* Baptism made the Christian to be the member of one body of Christ.

(1 Corinthians 12:13-14) [13] For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

[14]For the body is not one member, but many.

4. BAPTISM OF THE CHRISTIAN GIVE THE AUTHORITY OR LISENCE TO SERVE GOD.

(Mark 11:28-30) [28]And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

[29]And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

[30]The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

* Your personal experience of accepting Jesus Christ did gives you the authority to serve God but the baptized

5. BAPTISM OF THE CHRISTIAN ARE THE TRUE EVIDENCE THAT LOST SINNER MADE THE GENUINE ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR LORD AND SAVIOUR OF THEIR LIFE.

( Romans 10:9-13 ) [9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

[10]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

[11]For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

[12]For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

[13]For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

* This is the personal experience of accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of their life.

( Acts 16:25-31 ) [29]Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

[30]And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

[31]And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

* God bless you all always *
